Derrick Keane
| Originally from Inchicore, Derrick first distinguished himself musically when the duo in which he sang and played swept the All Ireland Talent Competition. After Derrick moved to the United States he formed the band, aptly named, Inchicore, where his strong vocals and personable, energetic stage presence frames his broad range of musical abilities and good taste. In America, his band has appeared from New Orleans to Boston and New York to California. They have shared the stage with the likes of the Wolfe Tones, the Fureys, Derek Warfield, Brendan Grace and Danny Doyle. The group features a strong stage presence, solid harmony vocals, and a toe-tapping repertoire. The band wraps its wide range of influences and abilities around a Celtic/Irish center, producing a very melodic and rhythmic result. Whether it is with ballads, traditional instrumentals, rebel or dance music, Inchicore has been delighting both Irish and American audiences with its home based Boston area performances. The band released its first album, Fairly Lively, in 2001 and was well received. It continues to be a favorite among its ever growing fan base. Soon after, Derrick began recording and producing their second album, Across the Pond, which featured the musical talent of The Wolfetones' Derek Warfield and Sean McGuinness of the Dublin City Ramblers. It was released in June of 2005 to warm welcome and unceasing accolades. This album features two songs that were recorded with Derek Warfield for his new album, Songs for the Bhoys. In addition to working on Inchicore's third album, Derrick has been compiling a wonderful collection of songs to debut his first solo album with a much-anticipated release date in the summer of 2007. |
